Pre-primary schools will remain closed until further notice and classes in primary schools will continue from 8 am to 11:30 am from Sunday amid a heatwave sweeping across the country.
Primary schools operating on one shift will hold classes from 8 am to 11:30 am while schools run on two shifts will have first shift's classes from 8 am to 9:30 am and second shift's classes from 9:45 am to 11:30 am, a Primary and Mass Education Ministry notice said on Saturday afternoon.
Apart from this, assemblies in primary schools will stay shut.
