Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) has been closed sine die following the death of its two students.
Earlier, the authorities at an emergency meeting of the 151st academic council decided to close the university with its Vice Chancellor in the chair.
Meanwhile, the CUET authorities asked the male students to vacate their hostels by 5 pm on Thursday and female students by 9 am on Friday.
Acting University Registrar Prof Dr Mohammad Humayun Kabir signed a letter and mentioned that due to the untimely death of two talented students of CUET in a tragic road accident on April 22, all academic activities (including examinations) of the university's graduates/undergraduates have been closed for an indefinite period.
University buses will run from the campus to the city to facilitate the students to leave the campus.
Earlier, the agitated CUET students set another passenger bus on fire adjacent to campus in protest against the death of their two fellow students in a road accident.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rangunia Police Station Chandan Kumar Chakraborty told BSS that angry students of CUET set another bus on fire. Police are on the scene to control the situation.
