Heat wave sweeping, may continue

Severe heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and several northern and central districts. Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Barishal division and three other divisions including Dhaka along with seven other districts and it may continue.

"Severe heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the districts of Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Rajshahi, Pabna, Faridpur and Gopalgonj. Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Barishal division and rest parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions and the districts of Mymensingh, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Chandpur, Noahkali, Feni and Bandarban and it may continue", said a met office forecast for the next 24 hours begins from 9am on Thursday.

Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with hails at isolated places. Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

Trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area.

Country's maximum temperature on Wednesday was 41.6 degree Celsius at Mongla and minimum temperature today was recorded 17.7 degree Celsius at Tetulia.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. Due to increase of moisture incursion, the discomfort may persist.
