English medium schools under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka have been directed to keep classes closed until April 25 to avoid health risks amid a heatwave across the country.
A letter, signed by Professor Mohammad Abdul Mansur Bhuiyan, school inspector of Dhaka Education Board, said this on Sunday.
The schools run in the foreign curriculum have also been asked to resume classes on April 28 as April 26 and 27 are weekly holidays.
Earlier on Saturday, the government decided to close all primary and secondary schools, colleges, madrasas, and technical institutions for seven days from April 21 to April 27 due to the heatwave.
