Technical Education Board chairman’s wife arrested

Shehela Perveen, wife of Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) chairman Md Ali Akbar Khan, was arrested for her alleged involvement in selling fake certificates. 

She was shown arrested in a case filed under the Cyber Security Act, a Detective Branch source said. 

Mohammad Harun-Or-Rashid, Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan DB Police, on Saturday night said BTEB System Analyst ATM Shamsuzzaman, the main accused in a case filed for selling fake certificates and the co-accused Gorai Survey Institute Director Sanjida Akhter alias Koli gave confessional statements. Based on their statements, Shehela Parveen was brought to the DB office for interrogation on Saturday. 

A Detective Branch source said they found evidence of money transactions between Shamsuzzaman and Perveen.

Earlier on April 1, ATM Shamsuzzaman and his associate Faisal Hossain were arrested for their alleged involvement in selling fake certificates.

Sanjida Akter alias Koli, Hilful Fujul Technical Institute Principal Sarder Golam Mostofa and Dhaka Polytechnic School and College Director Maksudur Rahman were also arrested on the same allegations.
