A dentist, who sustained severe injuries in an attack by a teen gang members in Chattogram on April 5, has passed away.
He breathed his while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city early Wednesday.
The deceased is Korban Ali.
Jasim Uddin, a relative of the deceased, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
He said the doctors of the hospital declared Korban dead after being on a life support machine for five days.
On April 5, a gang of young criminals attacked Korban’s son Ali Reza at the Feroz Shah Colony ground. Korban went there to save his son and was assaulted too. Later, he was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition.
Police earlier said all of the attackers were followers of vice president of Chattogram University Chhatra League Golam Rasul Nishan.
Mostafizur Rahman, Officer-in-charge of Akbar Shah Police Station, said a case was filed against 8-10 people over the attack on Korban, but no one was arrested yet.
