Two Nagad employees shot, Tk 60 lakh snatched

Miscreants shot two employees of mobile banking company Nagad and snatched Tk 60 lakh from them in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi on Thursday morning.

The injured are Delwar Hossain, 50, a resident of Charnagardi area, and Shahin Mia, 25, of Isakhali area in the upazila.

Shahid Mia, the distributor of Nagad's Narsingdi branch, said two unidentified men shot Delwar and Shahin in Hasnabad Bazar area under Amirganj union around 9:30 am and snatched Tk 60 lakh from them while going to the mobile financial service's Raipura branch from Narsingdi branch.

Later, locals rushed them to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital, and from there, they were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, he said.

In this regard, Raipura Police Station officer in-charge Safayet Hossain Palash said he went to the spot and started an investigation.

Police also started a drive to arrest those involved in the incident, he added.
