3 Myanmar army members take refuge in Bangladesh

Three members of the Myanmar army (Tatmadaw) have taken refuge in Bangladesh amid reports of heavy gunfights between the government troops and the rebels in the junta-run country.

They took shelter at Tambru Government Primary School after entering through the Tambru border of Ward 2 of Ghumdhum Union Parishad at Naikhongchhari upazila in Bandarban early Saturday.

Bandarban Deputy Commissioner Shah Muzahid Uddin confirmed the information.

Earlier, on March 11, 177 BGP members, including three officers of the Myanmar Army, took shelter in Bangladesh through the Jamchari border in Bandarban. They were sheltered at BGB Government Primary School.
