The High Court has granted anticipatory bail for eight weeks to advocate Nahid Sultana Juthi, an independent candidate for the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) election, in an attempted murder case.
The HC bench of Justice Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman and Justice SM Masud Hossain Dolon passed the order on Wednesday.
On March 8, Assistant Attorney General Saifur Rahman Chowdhury Saif filed the case with Shahbagh Police Station.
He alleged that the accused including independent candidate Nahid Sultana Juthi threatened the election commissioner to declare the result without even counting the votes, snatched one iPhone and Taka 15,000 in cash and tried to kill him with stick, chair and rod.
