The Bangladesh government reported one COVID-19 death and 31 cases in the last 24 hours (from Monday 8 am to Tuesday 8 am).
With this, the death toll rose to 29,493 and total cases stood at 20,49,219, the Directorate General of Health Services said in a press release today.
The new cases were found after testing 602 samples in the past day.
During the period, 52 patients recovered from the illness, taking the total recoveries to 20,16,414.
Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020.
The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.
