Two teachers of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) have been sent on compulsory leave for an indefinite period over the allegation of sexually harassing a female student.
They are Professor Rezuan Ahmed Shuvra, head of the Human Resources and Management Department, and Sajon Saha, assistant professor of the same dept.
Rezuan Ahmed Shuvra has also been removed as the department's head.
The university Proctor Sanjay Kumar Mukharjee confirmed the matter to the media on Wednesday afternoon.
However, the students locked all the departments demanding expulsion of the two teachers and burnt effigies of them.
