A mobile court of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has fined Tk one lakh to Kacchi Bhai restaurant at Gulshan-2 in the capital for not having fire safety measures.
The DNCC Executive Magistrate Julkar Nayen conducted the mobile court at 12:30pm on Wednesday.
The Dhansiri restaurant was fined Tk 40,000 on the same allegation in the area. Apart from, a seven-storey building named Seva House was also fined Tk 50,000 for keeping goods in front of the stairs.
At least 46 people were killed, and over 20 others sustained severe injuries by a devastating fire that broke out at the seven-storey Green Cozy Cottage in the capital’s Bailey Road on February 29. There was no fire safety in the building.
