A Dhaka court has issued arrest warrants against Evaly Managing Director Mohammad Rassel and his wife Shamima Nasrin, also Chairman of the e-commerce company in three separate cases filed over check fraud.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Farah Diba Chanda passed the order on Monday.
Plaintiff’s lawyer Sabiqul Islam said that, “Earlier, the court summoned them. As they didn’t appear, the court issued warrants.”
On December 19 last year, Rassel was released from Kashimpur Central Jail-1 in Gazipur on bail.
Rassel and his wife Shamima Nasrin were arrested by RAB on September 16, 2021, during a raid at their Mohammadpur home after a customer filed an embezzlement case against them with Gulshan Police Station.
Later, five other embezzlement cases were lodged against the couple with Dhanmondi Police Station and the court.
Nasrin was freed from jail on April 6, 2022.
