Nine burnt in Bhashan Char Rohingya camp blast

Nine people, including women and children, suffered burn injuries in an explosion at Bhashan Char Rohingya Camp in Hatia upazila of Noakhali on Saturday morning.

The injured are Mobashwera, 3, daughter of Safi Alam, Bashir Ullah, 15, son of Abdul Hakim, Rashida, 3, daughter of Abdul Shukkur, Zobaida, 11, daughter of Azizul Haque, Amena Khatun, 24, Safi, 12, son of Mohammad Tayeb, Rabiul, 5, son of Safi Alam, Sohel, 5, Azizul Haque, and his son Russel, 3.

The incident occurred at 81 no. cluster around 8 am, Bhashanchar Police Station officer in-charge Kawser Alam Bhuiyan told Jago News.

He said the fire originated from a leakage of gas cylinder at veranda of Abdur Shukur's room at 81 no. cluster, leaving nine injured.

The injured were first taken to Noakhali General Hospital and seven of them were, later, sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
