The Bangladesh government reported zero COVID-19 deaths and 43 cases in the last 24 hours (from Saturday 8 am to Sunday 8 am).
The total death toll remains at 29,486 and cases rose to 20,47,887, the Directorate General of Health Services said in a press release today.
The new cases were found after testing 526 samples in the past day.
During the period, 38 patients recovered from the illness, taking the total recoveries to 20,15,042.
Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020.
The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.
