Charge framed against Sabrina in fake NID case

A Dhaka court has framed charges against JKG Healthcare Chairperson Dr Sabrina Chowdhury in a case filed for making second national identity (NID) card using false information.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Ahmed passed the order on Monday. 

The court also fixed June 13 for recording the statements of the witnesses.

Earlier on November 24, 2022, Ripon Uddin, Sub Inspector of the detective branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police filed the charge-sheet in the case. 

Election Commission official Mohammad Momin Miah filed the case with Badda Police Station on August 30, 2020, for making two NID cards. Sabrina gave different birthdates in the two NID's and different names in place of husband's name.

A Dhaka court on July 19, 2022, sentenced eight people including JKG Healthcare Chairperson Dr Sabrina Chowdhury and its chief executive officer (CEO) Ariful Haque Chowdhury to 11-year imprisonment each in a case for issuing fake coronavirus (Covid-19) test reports. She is now out of jail on bail.
