Jatiya Party Chief Patron Raushan Ershad on Sunday declared herself the chairman of the party by relieving its current chairman GM Quader and Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu from the party posts.
She also announced Kazi Mamunur Rashid as the new secretary general of the party.
Raushan announced this at a meeting with the party leaders at her Gulshan residence in Dhaka.
However, Raushan did not take part in the 12th national parliamentary elections which was held on January 7.
On November 29 last year, she alleged that party Chairman GM Quader and General Secretary Mojibul Haque Chunnu did not cooperate with her in participating in the election.
