Seminar on 'Sino-South Asia Relations: Students' Perspective' held at SUST

A seminar titled 'Sino-South Asia Relations: Students' Perspective' has been held by the 'Chinese Corner' of the Department of Political Studies (PSS) of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology and the Confucius Institute of Dhaka University.

The seminar was held at the Chinese corner in academic building 'A' of SUST on Saturday morning. A six-member delegation from China participated in it.

Dr Yang Hui, Professor of the Institute of International Studies of Yunnan University, China, and Director of the Confucius Institute of DU spoke as the chief guest at the seminar.

During the speech, Dr Yang Hui told all present presenters and participants to focus on research. He said that he would cooperate in any need related to China. He also assured to work for the development of relations between China and Bangladesh.

The introductory speech and the documentary were presented by Professor Dr Md Shahabul Haque, coordinator of Chinese Corner. Dr Dilara Rahman and Dr Zayeda Sharmin, professors of the Political Studies Dept and members of SUST Chinese Corner gave the welcome speech.

In addition, Professor Dr Syed Ashrafur Rahman, head of the Political Studies Dept, Dr Xi Zhang, director of the Confucius Classroom of Shanto Mariam University, and Dr Nazrul Islam, professor of the Political Studies Department, also spoke. Abu Taher Sakib, a student of the 2019-20 session of the Political Studies Department, presented the seminar.

A total of 8 research articles were presented in the seminar, including 2 by students from China and 6 by students from different years of the Political Studies Department.
