Police recovered the body of a man from a residential hotel in the capital Dhaka's Fakirapool area on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Md Nazmul Haque, 47, from Kutubpur village under Sonargaon Police Station in Narayanganj. By profession, he was a cloth trader.
Motijheel Police Station sub-inspector (SI) Shohag Chowdhury said police rescued the man unconscious from Hotel Taj Mohol Residential around 10:30 am and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Quoting the hotel authorities, he said the man, who came to Dhaka for business purposes, rented a room at the facility on Thursday and it is assumed that he might died due to a stroke.
But the actual cause of the death can be known after receiving an autopsy report, the SI added.
