Three people were killed and two others injured as a truck rammed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Sadar upazila of Jamalpur on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Mozaffar Hossain, 38, a resident of Munshirchar area, and Arman Mia, 34, driver of the auto-rickshaw and resident of Nandir Bazar Banger Mor area in Sherpur upazila of the district, and Khokan Mia, 35, from Ishwarganj upazila of Mymensingh.
Locals said a sand-laden truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Bharuakhali Bazart in Ghoradhap union, leaving three dead on the spot and two others injured.
Later, the injured were sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. Of the injured, one is in critical condition.
Confirming the matter, Sadar Police Station officer in-charge Muhammad Mahabbat Kabir said the truck driver managed to flee.
