Three people were killed and two others injured when a pickup van crashed into a tree at Borokapon area in Chhatak upazila of Sunamganj on Tuesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Karim, Nurul Haque and Asad Uddin.
Police and local source said, some traders were going to Sylhet by a pickup van to sell fish from Sunamganj’s Jamalganj. When the pickup van reached Borokapon area, it lost control and crashed into a tree, leaving three people dead on the spot and two others injured.
Abdul Kabir, Sub Inspector of Joykolos Highway Police, said three people were killed after a pickup van lost control and hit a roadside tree. Police are on the spot and rescue operation is going on.
