Four of a family electrocuted in M'singh

Four members of a family died from electrocution in Nandail upazila of Mymensingh on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as auto-rickshaw driver Jamal Uddin, 32, his mother Anwara Begum, 65, and two daughters Anika Akter, 4, and Faiza, 6.

The incident occurred in Ghoshpala village under Chandipasha union around 3:30 pm, the union chairman Sahab Uddin Bhuiyan told Jago News.

He said Jamal Uddin would charge his auto-rickshaw at home every day. This afternoon, the vehicle got electrified accidentally and he came in contact with it while taking it out.

Hearing his crying for help, his mother and two minor daughters tried to pull him out but all of them were electrocuted, the chairman added.

Nandail Police Station officer in-charge Md Abdul Majid said the bodies were recovered and legal measures over the incident are under process.
