The deadline for Hajj registration under government and private management has been extended by 18 days to January 18.
The Religious Affairs Ministry said this in a notice on Thursday.
December 31 was the last date for the registration but it was extended to January 18 in special consideration.
Initially, the deadline for Hajj registration was December 10 but it was prolonged to December 31 as the quota had not been fulfilled.
According to the ministry, a total of 25,478 hajj pilgrims under government and private management completed their registration to date.
In the next year, Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam, will be held on June 16 (Zilhajj 9) subject to the appearing Moon in the sky.
As many as 1,27,198 devotees from Bangladesh - around 10,000 under government management and 1,17,000 under private management - can perform Hajj as per the agreement with Saudi Arabia.
