4 killed as bus collides with pickup van in Cox’s Bazar

Four workers were killed and at least eight others injured in a head-on collision between a picnic bus and a Leguna in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday morning.

The accident took place on Cox’s Bazar-Chattogram highway at Uttar Harbang Kolabagan area under Harbang union in Chakaria upazila around 7:45am.  

The deceased were identified as Riduan, son of Mostak Ahmed of Harbang Uttar Karmaharipara, Abu Bakkar, son of Rashid Ahmed of the same union, Joynal Abedeen, son of Badsha Miah and Mohiuddin, son of Mozaffar Ahmed.

They all were the passengers of the pickup van. 

Khokon Kanti Rudro, In-charge of Chakaria Chiringa Highway Police Station, said the picnic bus collided head-on with the Chattogram-bound pickup van, leaving four workers dead on the spot and eight others injured.

On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies and sized the two cars, the police officer added.
