BNP’s dawn-to-dusk blockade underway

A dawn-to-dusk blockade enforced by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its like-minded parties is going on across the country on Sunday to press home their demands for holding polls under a non-party caretaker government, and to dissuade people from voting in the January 7 election.

The thirteen phase of blockade started at 6am and will continue till 6am.

Vehicles of the newspapers or media, ambulances, and vehicles transporting oxygen cylinders and medicines will remain out of the purview of the blockade, the BNP said.

It is mentionable that, BNP has been observing strike and blockade programmes since October 29 following the party’s thwarted grand rally in Dhaka on October 28 amid attacks by police and the ruling Awami League supporters.
