The chamber court of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday stayed a High Court order that cancelled the candidatures of Awami League nominees - Shamim Haque from Faridpur-3 constituency, and Enamul Haque Babul from Jashore-4 constituency.
Chamber court judge of the Appellate Division Justice M Enayetur Rahim also ordered the authorities concerned to allow them to take part in the national polls.
However, the candidature of AL nominee from Barishal-4 constituency Shammi Ahmed was cancelled by the same court.
The Election Commission (EC) cancelled the candidacy of Enamul Haque Bablu on December 13, as his name was found in a loan defaulters' list.
On the other hand, Shamim Haque and Shammi Ahmed were reported to have dual citizenship by their respective rival candidates to EC, and got their candidature cancelled on December 15.
