A writ petition has been filed with the High Court seeking its directive to the authorities concerned to cancel the first phase of the government primary school assistant teacher recruitment test.

Fatema Akter, a candidate of the test, filed the writ with the concerned department of the HC on Tuesday.

Thirteen concerned people including Primary and Mass Education Secretary, Public Administration Secretary, Primary Education Directorate Director General, Divisional Commissioners of Rangpur, Barishal and Sylhet were made respondents to the writ.

The writ petition may be heard by the High Court bench comprising Justice Mostofa Jaman Islam and Justice Md Atabullah on Thursday, said Fatema’s lawyer Md Delwar Hossain.

Delwar Hossain said the first phase of the government primary school assistant teacher recruitment test was held on December 8. A total of 360,697 candidates from Rangpur, Barishal and Sylhet divisions sat for the exam. However, more than 158,000 candidates could not attend the examination due to hartal, blockade and inclement weather. There have been widespread irregularities in the examination.
