Four UPDF leaders shot dead in Khagrachhari

Four leaders of the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) were shot dead in Panchhari upazila of Khagrachhari on Monday night.

The deceased were Bipul Chakma, former president of Pahari Chhatra Parishad (PCP), Sunil Tripura, PCP vice president, Gonotantrik Jubo Forum leader Liton Chakma and UPDF member Rohin Bikash Tripura.

Confirming the matter, UPDF's district organizer Aungue Marma said the four leaders were staying in a house in Lohang's Anil Parea area to join a youth conference there on Tuesday organized by Gonotantrik Jubo Forum when they were killed at night.

Three other UPDF leaders are reportedly missing since the incident, he said.

Aungue Marma, however, blamed Gonotantrik UPDF for the incident but the organization president Shyamol Chakma refused the allegations.
