BNP announces fresh 36-hour blockade

BNP and like-minded parties have announced a fresh 36-hour blockade of road, rail, and waterways across the country from early Tuesday.

The blockade will be held from Tuesday 6 am to Wednesday 6 am demanding cancellation of the schedule of the 12th national election, release of opposition leaders and activists, including BNP chief Khaleda Zia, and the resignation of the government.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the announcements in a virtual press conference on Sunday afternoon.

Earlier, BNP observed blockade programs across the country in 10 phases to press home the aforesaid demands.
