Three people were killed and several others injured in a collision between a bus and a passenger vehicle (locally known as Mahendra) in Nalchity upazila of Jhalakathi on Thursday afternoon.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
The incident took place in Zero Point area on the Barishal-Patuakhali Highway around 5 pm, said Murad Ali, the officer in-charge of Nalchity Police Station.
Police and witnesses said a bus of 'Bepari Paribahan' collided head-on with a Mahendra, leaving two dead on the spot and several injured.
Among the injured, one, later, died on the way to hospital.
