A Dhaka court has denied bail to BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, organizing secretary Emran Saleh Prince and convener of the party’s media cell Jahir Uddin Swapan in two separate cases.
Dhaka’s First Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Faisal Atiq Bin Quader on Wednesday passed the order after hearing their bail petitions.
Earlier on November 3, the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detained Khasru from his Gulshan residence.
Swapon was arrested from the same neighbourhood earlier that day.
The next day, a Dhaka court granted six-day remand against Khasru and Swapon each in a case filed over the killing of police constable Amirul Haque on 28 October.
On November 5, a Dhaka court placed Prince on a three-day remand in a case filed over vandalising the Muktijuddha Museum of Razarbagh Police Lines during a clash with policemen on October 28.
