The Dhaka Reporters Unity has elected Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo and Mohiuddin as its president and general secretary respectively.
Shukur Ali bagged 583 votes while his near rival Shakhawat Hossain Badsha got 429 and Sohel secured 607 votes while his nearest contender Mainul Hasan Shohel got 471.
Besides, Shafiqul Islam Shamim became vice-president, Mizanur Rahman joint secretary, Khalid Saifullah organizing secretary, Rafiq Rafi office secretary, Mahmuda Doly women affairs secretary, Sushant Kumar Saha publicity and publication secretary, Rashim (Rashim Molla) information technology and training secretary, Mahbubur Rahman sports secretary, and Tanvir Ahmed welfare secretary of the Dhaka-based reporters' organization.
Md Habibur Rahman, Farhana Yeasmin, Sayeed Shipon, Mohibullah Muhib, Rafiq Mridha, Delwar Hossan Mohin, and Shariful Islam were elected executive members.
Chief Election Commission Manzurul Ahsan Bulbul in the DRU election on Thursday evening announced the results of the voting that was held from 9 am to 5 pm.
