BNP and like-minded parties have announced a fresh 48-hour blockade of road, rail, and waterways across the country from early Sunday.
The blockade will be held from Sunday 6 am to Tuesday 6 am, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said in a virtual press conference on Thursday afternoon.
He said the blockade will be observed demanding the resignation of the government and restoration of the election-time neutral caretaker government system, release of BNP chief Khaleda Zia and her better treatment abroad, release of all leaders and activists, including the party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and protesting the announcement of the 'illegal' schedule of the election.
Earlier, BNP observed blockade programs across the country in eight phases to press home the aforesaid demands.
