The National Board of Revenue has extended the deadline for income tax return submission by individual taxpayers to January 31.
However, the deadline for submitting tax returns by companies has also been extended to February 28, an NBR notice said on Wednesday.
BSS adds: The deadline for submitting income tax returns by individual taxpayers was supposed to end on November 30 while that of the companies' taxpayers on January 15, 2024.
Earlier, the country's apex trade body the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) demanded to extend the deadline for submitting returns by one month till December 31, 2023.
The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and Dhaka Taxes Bar Association, however, demanded raising the deadline for submitting income tax returns by two months.
