Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced a fresh 24-hour nationwide blockade and 12-hour hartal for Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Joint Secretary General of the party, on Monday afternoon announced the programmes at a virtual press briefing demanding polls under a non-party interim government.
The blockade will be enforced from 6am Wednesday (29 November) to 6am on Thursday and hartal will be observed from 6am to 6pm on Thursday (30 November), Rizvi said.
Rizvi said a total of 385 leaders and activists of BNP were arrested in the last 24 hours. A total of 1,480 people were sued in 13 cases during this period.
It is mentionable that, BNP’s seventh phase of 48-hour blockade started at 6am on Sunday which will end at 6am on Tuesday.
