10 vehicles torched across the country in 12 hrs

Miscreants set fire to at least 10 vehicles in different parts of the country, including the capital, on the eve of 48-hour hartal called by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its allies.

The vehicles were set on fire from 6am on Saturday to 6am on Sunday.

Talha Bin Jasim, Media Cell Officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence, confirmed the matter to Jago News on Sunday morning.

Arsonists torched four vehicles in Dhaka city, and one each in Natore, Bogura, Joypurhat, Feni, Cumilla and Jamalpur. Of the vehicles, 6 were buses, one truck, one covered van, one pickup van and one train, he said. 

However, miscreants hurled a cocktail at a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in front of Onestar Hotel on Kazi Alauddin road in the capital’s Fulbaria at 8:30am. 

It is mentionable that, the 48-hour hartal called by BNP and its allies began at 6am on Sunday and will continue till 6am on Tuesday.
