US ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas has expressed concern over violent speech against his embassy officials.
Peter Haas expressed his concern at a meeting with Road Transport and Bridges Minister and also Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader at Secretariat at 11am on Wednesday.
Emerging from the meeting, Peter Haas told journalists that he has expressed deep concern over violent speech against the officials of the US Embassy.
Earlier on Monday, Peter Haas held a meeting with Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader at latter’s office in Banani where the diplomat handed over a letter of the US assistant secretary at the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs.
On November 6, Chattogram’s Banshkhali upazila’s Chambol union chairman and Union Awami League convener Mujibul Haque Chowdhury threatened to beat US ambassador in Dhaka Peter Haas. He broadcast his statement live on his Facebook.
