As long as Bangladesh is in hands of Sheikh Hasina, it won't lose way: Liton

AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, son of national leader Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman, member of the Presidium of Bangladesh Awami League and mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation, said, 'Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members and our fathers who gave their lives in the freedom struggle of 71, then freedom. We say to them that they have given their lives to fight for, sleep in peace, we are awake in Bangladesh, we will be awake. As long as the country is in the hands of Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh will not lose its way. '

On Wednesday (November 8), he said this at the memorial ceremony of the four national leaders organized by the Liberation War Museum in Dhaka.

In the commemoration ceremony, Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad's eldest daughter Sharmin Ahmad Ripi, Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam's daughter Dr Syeda Zakia Noor Lipi, Martyr Captain M Mansoor Ali's grandson Engineer Tanveer Shakeel Joy spoke.

In the program, trustees of the Liberation War Museum Dr Sarwar Ali and Asaduzzaman Noor MP gave the closing speech and said it was moderated by Rafiqul Islam, Manager of Muktijudda Jadughar. Artist Bulbul Islam performed the tribute music. Recited by reciter Golam Sarwar.

Awami League presidium member AHM Khairuzzaman Liton said that the four national leaders used to run to villages and towns to spread the word of Bangabandhu among the people and to organize people. No matter how much respect and reverence they have for Bangabandhu, how much deep patriotism they have, how much strength of mind they have, they were steadfast in their decision even when they were facing certain death. The four national leaders who made the country independent on the path indicated by Bangabandhu, need to be propagated more and more. In this regard, the Liberation War Museum can play a leading role.

Khairuzzaman Liton said after the assassination of Bangabandhu on August 15, 1975, the gangsters formed a killer team. The instructions to the killer team were to go to jail and kill the four national leaders without waiting for instructions if anything happened against them. That's it. Between November 3rd and November 7th, so many incidents happened on the soil of Bangladesh. Assassinations, coups, conspiracies, counter-conspiracies, many things happened. What happened in Bangladesh from the night of November 2 to November 7, needs to be researched in detail.

He also said that four national leaders were arrested on August 22. My mother used to visit my father in prison with food. My father told my mother, 'We probably won't get out of here alive. Mostak will not leave us alive. My four daughters, I could not marry anyone. You arrange them.' When do people say that? Standing at such a time, the four national leaders accepted death knowing that it was certain, but did not betray Bangabandhu.

Rasik Mayor Khairuzzaman Liton said, Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken the country to a beautiful place through various ups and downs. The country is moving forward, will move further. The events that are happening at that time, those who are trying to make us evil in various ways. Do those words fit in their mouths? We should learn democracy from the party whose founder Ziaur Rahman, who created a hellish environment by killing freedom fighters, holding elections with hooligans, mantans, rigging yes/no votes?

Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad's eldest daughter Sharmin Ahmad Ripi said, we have demanded the Prime Minister to declare Republic Day on April 10, celebrate the Jail Murder Day on November 3 and include the correct and complete history of the Liberation War with due dignity and importance in the textbooks and syllabus of all levels. The Prime Minister assured to fulfill the demands.

Daughter of martyr Syed Nazrul Islam and MP of Kishoreganj-1 Constituency Dr. Syeda Zakia Noor Lipi said, since I met Bangabandhu, my father was Bangabandhu's shadow companion. During the liberation war, the headline in Joy Bangla newspaper was 'Syed Nazrul Islam Sankat Manab.' On August 15, 1975, we were put under house arrest. I got a call on my father's Lal telephone, he said angrily, I will never go to power house on the blood of Bangabandhu. Later I came to know that it was the phone of the murderer Khandaker Moshtaq. My mother also got a call and she was as persistent as her father.

Martyr Captain M Mansoor Ali's Dauhitra and Sirajganj-1 Constituency MP Engineer Tanveer Shakeel Joy said, since 15th August and 3rd November 1975, one after another uphill crossing of Uttara is the Bangladesh of today. The murderers were judged but not punished. A strong movement should be made to bring back the fugitive murderers to the country. I demand the speedy implementation of the judgment.

In the closing speech, the trustee of the Liberation War Museum Asaduzzaman Noor MP said history can never be erased. Ziaur Rahman tried many times to distort history, but history moves at its own pace. I hope that the four national leaders will be commemorated on a larger scale in the future. Next March four national leaders will be made a corner.
