The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested former Home Minister and BNP Vice Chairman Air Vice Marshal (retd) Altaf Hossain Chowdhury.
He was arrested while he was hiding in the Tongi area in Gazipur on Sunday.
Confirming the matter to Jago News, RAB’s Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moeen said acting on a tip-off, Altaf was arrested in a case filed over carrying out acts of sabotage and violence and attacking the Chief Justice’s residence on October 28.
He has been taken to the RAB Headquarters for primary interrogation, the RAB officer said.
However, BNP is holding another 48-hour countrywide blockade program from today to press home their one-point demand and protest the police action on its October 28 rally.
