BNP’s 3-day countrywide blockade begins

The three-day countrywide blockade, called by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has begun.

The blockade began early Tuesday and will end on Thursday evening.

BNP’s like-minded parties and alliances have expressed their solidarities with the three-day blockade program.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami will also observe the countrywide blockade program during this time.

The movement of public transport and cars were almost normal in different parts of the capital in the morning.

Members of Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) have been deployed on the highways across the country to avert any untoward situation.

Earlier on Sunday, BNP called a nationwide blockade for three days in protest against arrests of party leaders and activists after violent clashes with police during an antigovernment rally on Saturday.
