Mirza Fakhrul allegedly picked up

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was allegedly picked by DB police from his residence in the capital’s Gulshan-2 on Sunday morning.

BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter to Jago News.

He said Mirza Fakhrul was picked by DB police from his residence around 9am.

Earlier, police took position in front of Mirza Fakhrul’s residence in Gulshan-2.

However, the countrywide dawn-to-dusk hartal, enforced by BNP, is underway.

The movement of public transport and cars were normal in different parts of the capital in the morning.

Police were deployed in front of the BNP’s Naya Paltan central office in the morning. Police were seen cordoning off a side of the BNP office.

Mirza Fakhrul announced the hartal with a hand-mike protesting the attacks on its grand rally in Naya Paltan on Saturday afternoon.
