Telecom operators asked to shut down internet in Nayapaltan

The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has directed telecom operators to remain shut internet services from 11am to 8pm on Saturday in the capital’s Nayapaltan where BNP is holding a rally.

The direction was issued by the Engineering and Operations Department of the BTRC. 

A source from the BTRC confirmed the matter to Jago News.

However, BNP is holding a rally in front of its Nayapaltan office demanding resignation of the AL government. 

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will present as a chief guest at the rally while the party’s Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas will preside it.

Awami League is also holding a peace and development rally at the south gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
