Khawaja Tower fire doused after 16 hours

The fire at Khawaja Tower in Dhaka's Mohakhali area was doused on Friday morning, around 16 hours after it had broken out.

The fire was put out at about 8:45 am, Fire Service and Civil Defence media wing chief (acting) Shahjahan Shikder said around 10:30 am.

Earlier around 4:59 pm on Thursday, the 13th floor of Khawaja Tower caught a massive fire.

Eleven units of Fire Service and Civil Defence worked to douse the blaze. Bangladesh Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel also joined them in the efforts.

Three people were, however, killed and several others received injuries in the fire.
