A Sherpur court on Monday convicted father and his three sons and sentenced them to death in a case filed over school boy Billal Hossain killing at Jhenaigati upazila in 2006.
The convicts are Abu Zafar, hailing from Konagaon area of the upazila and his three sons Al Amin, Md Moniruzzaman and Dudu Mia.
According to prosecution, Abu Zafar and his sons killed Billal Hossain, 16, son of Nur Islam and disposed his body into a safety tank on May 3, 2006.
After five days of his killing, locals recovered Billal’s body from the safety tank.
Nur Islam filed a case against 10 people with Jhenaigati Police Station.
After examining all the records and witnesses, Additional District and Session Judge Mohammad Moslem Uddin handed down the verdict.
