A total of 24,954 people are being killed in road accidents in Bangladesh in a year.
Quoting World Health Organization (WHO), Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity (BJKS) Secretary General Md Mozammel Haque said at a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Saturday morning.
The press conference was arranged on the occasion of National Road Safety Day.
Mozammel demanded compensation for the victims as per Road Transport ACT.
He also claimed that if the e-trafficking system is introduced, the road accidents will be reduced by 80 percent.
The loss of GDP due to road accidents is 5.3 percent in Bangladesh, he added.
