'Death threat' to PM: BNP leader Chand denied bail in 2 cases

A court in Rajbari has rejected the bail plea of Rajshahi district unit BNP convener Abu Sayeed Chand in two cases filed in the district on an allegation of making a death threat to the Prime Minister.

Rajbari No. 2 sub-ordinate court's senior judicial magistrate Sudhangshu Shekhar Roy passed the order on Wednesday after a hearing.

Of the two cases, one was filed by the district unit Awami League's joint general secretary Sheikh Sohel Rana Tipu while another was lodged by Pangsha upazila unit Jubo League convener and upazila vice chairman Md Jalal Uddin Bishwas.

Both the lawsuits were registered in Rajbari No. 2 sub-ordinate court.
