Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Friday predicted light to moderate rain likely to occur in most places over the central and north-eastern areas, in many places over southern regions and in few places over northern regions.
"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at many places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country", said a met office forecast for the next 24 hours begins from 9 am today.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Country's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 32.3 degree Celsius at Bhola while the lowest temperature today was recorded 22.8 degree Celsius at Tetulia.
Country's maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 378 millimeters (mm) at Mymensingh.
The low pressure are over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Northwestern part of Bangladesh now lies over Northwestern part of Bangladesh and adjoining area. Monsoon trough runs through East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, center of the low to Assam. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay.
