Bangladesh Women’s kabaddi team loses to Nepal

Bangladesh women's kabaddi team on Monday missed opportunity to win the bronze medal as they lost to Nepal by 37-24 points in their opening group B match of the 19th Asian Games Kabaddi at Xiaoshan Guali Sports Center Court 2 in China, reports BSS.

In the Asian Games women's kabaddi event, there are four teams in Group A and three teams in Group B as Bangladesh is placed in Group B with Iran and Nepal. Two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.

The day's match between Bangladesh and Nepal was the unwritten quarter final even though it was a group stage game as the winning team of today's match will move to the semi-final and win the bronze medal.

But, the Bangladesh women's kabaddi team dashed the hope losing the match and Nepal had their last laugh after reaching the semifinal.

Both the men's and women's teams failed to win any medal in the last Asiad. This time there was a chance of winning a medal in the women's event as Bangladesh were in a group of three teams, but they missed the opportunity.

While in the men's event, Bangladesh kabaddi team made a winning start beating Japan by 52-17 points in their opening group A match held at Court 1.
