4 including ‘Kishore Gang’ leader held in Mirpur

Police arrested four members of a 'Kishor Gang' group from the city's Mirpur area on Sunday night, reports BSS.

The detainees were- gang leader Mohammad Arif Mia, 23, and his three accomplices- Ridoy, 20, Alam, 19, and Ramzan 19.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mirpur Model Police Station Mohammad Mohsin confirmed the matter saying that, "On a tip-off, our team caught them from Technical point area on Sunday night. They were caught red-handed while trying to kill a person with sharp weapons."

Three knives were recovered from their possession during that time, he said.

According to police, Arif, mastermind of the youth gang named 'Tomader Arif Bhaiya' of Mirpur used to contact his 10-12 accomplices through social media and gather at places to terrorize people and fight.

Necessary legal action has been taken against them, the OC added.
