Tourist police chief additional DIG Habibur Rahman has been made the new commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Public Security Division of Home Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Wednesday.
Earlier on October 10 last year, the government promoted DIG of police (Dhaka Range) Habibur Rahman to the rank of additional DIG and posted him to the tourist Police.
Habibur was born at Chandra Dighlia village in Gopalganj in 1967.
He joined the 17th BCS Police Cadre as an assistant superintendent of police.
